At 1000Fryd we give life to the local music environment and it gives us life. It helps us grow, become better, and gain new perspective.
During the first lockdown of the Corona pandemic we stepped up and established contact across various bands and artists in Aalborg. It materialised in seven 7”'s med seven different genres (alternative, folk, jazz, metal, rock, punk and stoner rock), where 33 different bands from Aalborg are delivering a unique and previously unreleased song, and eight different Aalborg artists creating a new piece of art as front cover for the 7”'s. The flipside of the 7”'s form a jig-saw puzzle, that are only assemblable if you collect all seven 7”'s.
Almost every band asked to contribute a song, said yes to be part of this insane project, and it is a testimony of the Aalborg music scene in 2021. Hopefully this series of vinyl will stand as a manifesto about said music scene many years into the future. We hope it will reach every corner of Nordjylland, but hopefully also in the remaining part of Denmark. We want to show the extreme mass of talent and the huge diversity we represent up here in the dark corner of our country, that is often overlooked in Denmark.
Originally the bands went into this project with the task of financing this project by themselves, which also shows the faith the bands showed these 7”'s. The municipality of Aalborg then stepped in and helped with the funding, which means every penny earned from the sales goes into the pockets of the bands.
So go give life to all the Aalborg bands and the music scene up north.ORDER IT HERE
