Today, armored vehicles, riot gear, and military tactics in civilian streets have become familiar sights. Do Not Resist examines how this reality took shape, documenting the militarization of American policing through federal equipment programs, training exercises, public meetings, and on the ground responses to protest. Observational in style and without narration, the film captures the language and logic used to justify this shift, as well as its impact on the relationship between police and civilians, revealing how practices once associated with war were quietly normalized as everyday law enforcement.
