Vi har fået påbud fra kommunen om, at vi ikke længere må spille højt til koncerter - i praksis vil vi ikke længere kunne spille livemusik, hvilket er grundlaget for vores driftstøtte og eksistens.

Nabobygningen er opført med utilstrækkelig lydisolering, og under byggeriet advarede vi om, at det kunne føre til problemer, og det er nu gået i opfyldelse.

We have received a request from the municipality, stating that we can no longer play loud music at concerts - this means in practice that we can no longer play livemusic, which is the bedrock of our existence.

The neighboring apartments have bad sound isolation, which is something we warned about, when they constructed it.

We want to save 1000fryd, because it is full of history and it contributes greatly to the cultural life in Aalborg.

AFLYST - One Man And His Droid (d) + Genie Dean (lok)
Desvrre er koncerten med One man and his droid aflyst, istedet arbejder vi med noget lokalt erstatning....

Lidt musik til efter folkekkkenet. One Man And His Droid er fra Tyskland og ligger musikalsk et sted iemllem Foo Fighters, Weakerthans og Belle & Sebastian. Musikken har elementer af bde rock, post-hardcore, electronic og emo. Men hvorfor fyre intetsigende fraser af, nr man istedet kan hre lidt mp3 p deres hjemmeside. I december har de touret europa sammen med Weakerthans fra Canada og er udgiver p det tyske interpendent label Defiance Records.

Med i kbet er lokale Genie Dean, som sidst gav The Fashion kamp til stregen i december. Genie Dean spiller emo-rock ikke ulig Sixty Stories og The Weakerthans. Jae, nu begynder det at blive svrt at holde sig vk.

One Man and His Droid certainly share a soul with their audience. The five members of the band come together as one single unit and through their music they attempt not to reach an anonymous audience, but rather individuals. O est le magnetophone? was like an adolescence for the band: though they were still walking through the world of rock in childrens shoes, they were maturing and one could feel their potential and capacity to evolve. With their new album, PARTYPEOPLE, One Man and His Droid have not strayed from the roots laid down with O est le magnetophone?, they have undergone a metamorphosis. OMAHD have grown up without being forced to feel ashamed of words like emo. What happened in the studio during the summer of 2003, was pure rock and the end result brilliantly displays this. It screams for the smoky and dusty air of a small club and the athmosphere of the open sky at a summer festival. Inspired by their surroundings in sunny Spain, and with a little help from Pale front man, Holger Kochs, (who also provided the artwork and layout) One Man was able to cross over old barriers and tread on fresh ground. Harmony and variety were always their thing, but also apparent when you look at Peter, Matthias, Jens, Oliver and Carsten, is the way in which the music is growing with its makers. Catchy like Motorpsycho and dirty like Pixies, they surprise their listeners with unexpected, yet flowing elements. A wide array of genres is their art, as is apparent with the electronic Read the Manual First following the straight indie Drop That Beautiful. Despite the variances, one constant throughout PARTYPEOPLE is the pageant of intense honesty. With this record, OMAHD give themselves completely to their audience. PARTYPEOPLE doesnt reel you in after the second or third song, it puts it spell on you immediately with the first tones of the first song, Indianapolis, which is more into your face than any song performed by OMAHD ever before. This album is like a tree: sturdy but alive, robust but vigorous. One can feel that the band really worked hard, to satisfy themselves and their listeners. This is a changing and potent album, with elements of rock, post hardcore, electronik and emo, played by a band, who have no need to hide and if it has not already been one, then now they must be recognised.
