BEVAR 1000FRYD! (ENGLISH BELOW)

SAVE 1000FRYD!

We have received a request from the municipality, stating that we can no longer play loud music at concerts - this means in practice that we can no longer play livemusic, which is the bedrock of our existence.

The neighboring apartments have bad sound isolation, which is something we warned about, when they constructed it.

Throughout the past 40 years, many people have had personal and shared experiences at 1000fryd!

We want to save 1000fryd, because it is full of history and it contributes greatly to the cultural life in Aalborg.

Daniela Maciel: This is for You, Demons
Only after I said: "Okay, fine, I can't fight you", could I hear the song of my demons.

This is for You, Demons is an audiovisual installation inspired by the Tibetan practice of Chöd, where one confronts and befriends their inner demons. In the artwork, Forget-Me-Not flowers have been transformed into sound flowers that are part of a generative soundscape — the demons’ song. Forget-Me-Not flowers have served as a symbol in different mythologies for centuries, representing the remembrance of a loved one. The demons will not and shall not be forgotten!
As an artist, Daniela Maciel (b. 1989) explores the dialectic view and labeling of experiences, feelings, and situations as ‘positive’ or ‘negative’. She works with themes such as people’s connectedness with and perception of nature, and our relation to identity, and seeks to challenge views that can limit us from seeing the complexity of life and the world if not shaken up once in a while. Using visual and sonic mediums, both in digital and analog forms, she creates sensory installations that reveal her experience with these topics and invites us to notice something we might have missed before.
