BEVAR 1000FRYD! (ENGLISH BELOW)

SAVE 1000FRYD!

We have received a request from the municipality, stating that we can no longer play loud music at concerts - this means in practice that we can no longer play livemusic, which is the bedrock of our existence.

The neighboring apartments have bad sound isolation, which is something we warned about, when they constructed it.

There is a signature campaign here - https://www.skrivunder.net/bevar_1000fryd

Moments

Throughout the past 40 years, many people have had personal and shared experiences at 1000fryd!

We want to save 1000fryd, because it is full of history and it contributes greatly to the cultural life in Aalborg.

f.eks. warmly invites you to Mapping of the Movable, a series of online meetings by artist Maj Horn, which will explore sites of self-organisation, communities, and subcultures in Aalborg.

Over the last year, Maj Horn and f.eks. have held a series of workshops with the aim of mapping the communities of Aalborg, focusing on existing groups exercising commoning principles. The groups consist of partially or fully self-organised institutions and/or networks for subculture(s). Subsequently, selected groups have been invited by the artist to participate in further mapping activities. At each of the three online meetings, representatives will introduce their community, its underlying everyday rhythms, social aspects, rules (or anti-rules), self-organisational structure, and decision-making processes.

These informal presentations will be followed by a shared discussion about the communities and their relationship to each other and the city. For example, key questions include how they relate to the history of Aalborg and the city’s future growth; if (and how) they are independent of major social and political institutions and structures; how sustainable (socially, politically, economically, ecologically) the communities are; and what challenges and (un)fulfilled dreams they have. The goal is to have self-reflective conversations, where all the participants are invited to contribute with questions, experiences and reflections. The digital meetings will be moderated by Maj Horn.

The meetings are part of an ongoing project of the same title Mapping of the Movable. The project is seeking to create and document an alternative production of the city, where Aalborg serves as the site. The collective material will culminate as an alternative guide to exploring the city that aims to discover new places, map different communities, and create images and language for (re)producing Aalborg. Mapping of the Movable is a project made in collaboration between Maj Horn, f.eks., and the Aalborg-based cultural houses Huset i Hasserisgade and 1000fryd. The Mapping of the Movable publication will be launched in collaboration with the Open program at Kunsten Museum of Modern Art Aalborg in early 2021.

Maj Horn is an artist living and working in Copenhagen. In her work she is particularly involved with urban spaces and community building, as she is engaged in understanding identities of people and places, exploring different knowledge sharing methods, and highlighting alternative ownership strategies. She graduated from the Funen Art Academy in 2014 and has made projects with I: project space, Beijing, China 2018/19; Lab 852, Zagreb, Croatia, 2018; Art Lab Gnesta, Sweden, 2017 and ZK/U - Center for Art and Urbanistics, Berlin, Germany, 2017. f.eks. inviterer til Mapping of the Movable, en serie af online møder af kunstneren Maj Horn, som undersøger selvorganisering, fællesskaber og subkulturer i Aalborg.
